Cars 3 Mini Racers Blind Bags

While scouring the aisles of Walgreens for 40th Anniversary Star Wars figures, I found these nifty little blind bags. If I recall correctly, these bags were under $3 each. It appears that my favorite Cars character, Doc Hudson is one of the possible prizes, so I had to give it a shot.

As the package says, these are actual little die-cast cars, not the plastic that I anticipated when I first caught sight of these.

I have no idea if the code means anything. Feeling around on the package only tells me that there is a little car in there and it's heavy.

Whoops, this pic uploaded sideways! Here are the current possible prizes. The back advertises that more will be coming in the fall. And let's see who I get...

It's Luigi!  He wouldn't have been my first, second, or even fifth choice, but he's a pretty neat little toy. His paint is well applied and his little wheels turn nicely, and let's face it that's just about all you need for a tiny car this size.

Here he is with Funko Dorbz Rocket Raccoon, who looks like he's already planning on building a hyperspace gateway out of him or something else sinister.

  1. I doubt if the code means anything, but you never know. The first run or so of LEGO blind bags, each minifig had a separate UPC, until LEGO noticed that people were posting all the numbers online so you could get the exact fig you wanted.

    1. I liked the run of MLP minis that actually had a little window on the package so that you could see what toy was in there. I know there's codes for them, but cheesey Petes it's so much easier to just pick a package up and look in a window!

    1. Do not trust the cute. The cute will deceive you and steal your wallet!

  5. In the UK they have blocked out the window so that you can't see inside. I guess a ploy to make people buy more that don't know about the codes.

    2. We got the plastic ones from Target, then I found this post. We happen to be in San Diego on vacation, so I hit up some Walgreens and Vons with our little guy to try to replace his Jackson Storm, which I believe is floating in Mission Bay. The ones at Walgreens all seemed to have a white code window, while the Vons had both white and a darker gray (to likely obscure the figure a bit). Went to like ten stores today and have only seen one code above 08.

  10. Thanks for the guide. I managed to feel up a blind bag and get Natalie Certain for my son - which is what he asked for so at least his Lightening McQueen has a play buddy now 🙂 Mater is probably the easiest to find because he has a very distinct shape. I guess the numbers on the bag take the fun out of guessing now 😉
